Error F01 in the Leran washing machine

It can be annoying to see an error code appear on your washing machine, especially if you don’t know what it means or how to fix it. You’re not the only owner of a Leran washing machine to have experienced the F01 error. One of the most frequent problems that users encounter is this error code, but the good news is that you can usually fix it on your own.

Getting your machine back up and running again starts with knowing what the F01 error code means. This post will explain the meaning of the F01 error, the reasons behind its appearance, and the actions you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. This guide will empower you to confidently take on the problem, regardless of whether you’re a do-it-yourself enthusiast or simply want to cut costs and save time on repairs.

Possible reasons for the code

To find out why the F01 error code even appeared, you must perform a thorough diagnosis before you begin troubleshooting the issue on your own. A straightforward bend in the inlet hose or an issue with the SM control module could both result in this kind of error. Let’s enumerate the primary causes of the Leran "home assistant" water intake function malfunction.

  • Damage to the inlet valve. If this is the problem, then the malfunction signals will appear even before the error code appears. At the first stage, you may notice that the washing powder is not completely washed out of the cuvette, which signals that the valve is damaged. To check the element, you need to apply 220 volts to the electromagnetic valve, and if the part closes with a characteristic click, then everything is fine. Be sure to check both valves, and if both do not react in any way during the test, then replace them.
  • Clogging of the inlet mesh. One of the most common situations is considered to be a banal clogging of the filter mesh. Because of this, a loud buzzing will appear, and the water will take much longer to collect than usual.
  • Clogging of the coarse filter. The solution to this problem is similar to that described in the previous paragraph – thoroughly clean the filter from all contaminants.
  • Damage to the pressure switch. This part controls the water level in the system, so if this element fails, the control module will not be able to receive information about the amount of liquid collected in the tank. You need to conduct a simple sensor test, for which you need to disconnect the pressure switch tube and blow into the wire. If you hear one or two clicks, then the part is working properly, if not, then the pressure switch will have to be replaced.

If the washing machine hasn’t been used in a while, double-check the pressure switch wire just in case. It might be clogged with cobwebs or fabric fibers.

  • Malfunction of the SM control module. The most important element of the washing machine, which is also called the "brain" of the system, often suffers due to damage to the triacs. If these elements have burned out, then you can not replace the entire control module, but only install new triacs on the board. It is not recommended to do this yourself – it is better to entrust the work to service center specialists.
  • Damage to the hose that connects the pressure switch and the tank of the household appliance. Over time, the hose loses its tightness, which is why it lets air through.
  • Poorly closed hatch door. In this situation, even repair is not needed, because if the door is not tightly closed, the UBL cannot block the lock, and the control module will not allow the start of the working cycle.
  • Pump failure. Finally, the lack of water intake may be due to damage to the drain pump. It is possible to repair it, but it is much easier to simply replace the pump.

As you can see, there is only one error code, but there are so many possible causes for it to occur that understanding the breakdown is impossible without thorough diagnostics.

Looking for a malfunction

After deciding to handle the issue on your own, unplug the Leran washing machine from all sources of power. Since these are standard precautions, never omit them. If the machine makes a loud buzzing sound but the tank is not filled with water, then proceed as directed by us.

  • First, make sure that the shut-off valve is open and water can enter the system. Close it so that it does not interfere during diagnostics and repairs.
  • Disconnect the inlet hose from the device and drain the remaining waste liquid from it.
  • Check the inlet hose for damage and that it is not kinked.

If there isn’t a water intake, follow these first three steps. After making sure everything is in working order, you should take a close look at the filter element that is housed inside the inlet hose. To examine the mesh, do the following:

  • remove the hose;
  • examine the valve system in which the mesh is installed. The filter has a special indentation that needs to be fixed with pliers and gently pulled towards you to remove the filter element;
  • rinse the filter under a powerful stream of hot water;
  • install the mesh in place using the same pliers.

Checking the coarse filter—which is typically installed after the tap—will be the final step in the diagnostic process. This process will require two keys in order to hold the connection point with the valve and unscrew the bolt at the same time, making it a little more difficult than the previous one. When everything is prepared, place a basin beneath the faucet to prevent flooding of the nearby floors or neighbors. The filter can remove any dirt on its own thanks to the strong water pressure.

Although troubleshooting the F01 error in a Leran washing machine can be quite annoying, the first step in resolving the issue is figuring out what causes it. This error typically indicates an issue with either the control board or the motor, two essential parts of your washing machine.

To ensure that everything is firmly in place, begin by inspecting the wiring and connections before attempting to solve the issue. If that doesn’t fix the problem, you might need to examine the motor directly or think about hiring an expert to examine the control board.

Keep in mind that routine washing machine maintenance can assist in preventing these mistakes from happening in the first place. You can ensure that the machine lasts for many years by monitoring its condition and taking care of minor problems early on.

A Leran washing machine’s Error F01 usually indicates that the motor is not operating properly. This can be caused by a number of problems, including a broken connection or a malfunctioning motor control unit. This error prevents the machine from operating, but you can usually diagnose it on your own by examining the motor control module for any obvious damage, resetting the machine, or inspecting the wiring.
