It can be annoying if the water in your Candy washing machine isn’t filling. This is a frequent problem, and it typically indicates that there is an obstruction preventing the water from adequately entering the machine.
There are a number of possible causes for this. Sometimes all it takes is turning off the water supply. In other situations, there might be an issue with the water inlet valve, the filter, or the hose.
It’s a good idea to look into these potential causes yourself before calling for repair. Many of these problems are easily resolved without the assistance of a professional, saving you money and time.

How to find a malfunction?
The machine does not fill with water for sufficient reasons. A loosely closed hatch, a blockage in the inlet hose, and a control board malfunction can all result in filling issues. The knowledge that some malfunctions happen more frequently than others and present with extra "symptoms" makes the process of finding a malfunction easier. Usually, one of the following breakdowns affects the user.
- The inlet valve is broken. In this case, the powder receptacle will remain dry, and the detergent added to it will remain untouched. The final proof will be checking the part: you need to apply 220 volts to the valve and listen. If the membrane "worked", a characteristic click was heard, then there are no problems with the short circuit. The absence of sounds and other reactions will signal a malfunction of the element. It will have to be removed and replaced with a new one.
- The inlet filter is clogged. To prevent debris from getting into the machine from the water supply, a protective filter mesh is provided in the inlet hose. If too much debris and limescale deposits have stuck to it, then water will not be able to seep into the machine. The washing machine will try to fill the drum, making an unusual buzzing sound.
- The pressure switch is damaged. This part is also called a water level sensor and monitors the fullness of the tank. A faulty device will not be able to measure the pressure correctly and will send a signal to the control board about the end of the set. Naturally, the module will receive the information and cancel the command to fill. It is easy to make sure that the pressure switch is working: you need to find it and test it. It is located immediately under the top cover of the washing machine and consists of a “washer” and a long tube lowered downwards. To check, the hose is disconnected from the body and blown out: if clicks are heard, the sensor is working, if not, it is broken or clogged. In the latter case, it needs to be cleaned.
- The control board is out of order. It is more difficult if the control module itself prevents water intake – it does not recognize the signals from the pressure switch and does not send a command to the pump and the inlet valve. Probably, the resistors or "tracks" on the unit have burned out. Home diagnostics and repairs are not advisable in this case – only professionals with the appropriate experience and special equipment should repair electronics.
- The pump has burned out. Before filling with water, the system must make sure that the machine is capable of draining the collected liquid if necessary. If the pump is broken and does not report its "readiness" to the control board, the module will not start washing. It is quite difficult to deal with the pump on your own, it is easier and more reliable to contact professionals.
Issues with the pump, pressure switch, inlet valve, control board, filter mesh, or inlet valve prevent the Candy washing machine from filling with water.
It is advised to look at the wiring from the sensor to the tank as soon as possible when examining the pressure switch. Its insulation deteriorates with time and allows air to pass through, making it difficult to gauge the tank’s pressure. The machine may not fill if the UBL is malfunctioning.
Not all empty drums are the result of a malfunction. A loosely closed hatch door is frequently the source of the issue; the board detects a leak in the system but does not initiate the filling process. To get the door lock to click, try shutting the machine once more.
Hose and mesh filter
Candy’s inlet hose or filter is probably clogged if, after initiating the program, she merely buzzes instead of filling the tank. You must remove the corrugation by loosening the clamps and disconnecting from the body and pipe in order to check the guess and clear the obstruction. Next, check for kinks and debris in the rubber, and give it a good rinse under the faucet. Soak a heavily soiled sleeve in a warm lemon solution if the walls are covered in a thick layer of dirt and lime.
Replug the cleaned hose back in and carry on with the cycle. There is a problem with one of the filters if the set is not restored. Examine and clean the mesh first:
- loosen the clamp that fixes the hose;
- unhook the hose from the body of the washing machine;
- look into the valve and look for the filter mesh;
- use pliers to grab the ledge provided on the filter;
- pull the filter towards you, without rotating or applying strong pressure;
- clean the nozzle with a toothpick or needle, getting rid of all stuck debris;
- rinse the mesh under the tap;
- return the filter to its seat and press it into the grooves.
The washing machine won’t be able to fill the drum with water if the filter mesh is clogged.
It is advised to perform a "deep cleaning" on the second filter right away. It is fitted into the water pipe right after the tap and absorbs all of the debris, contaminants, and scale that comes with it. There is only one solution to the issue: take two wrenches, use the first to tighten the joint and the second to loosen the retaining nut. After that, we placed a sizable basin underneath it and turned on a high-pressure water supply. After two to three minutes, you only need to tighten the fastening again; the flow will take care of the mesh cleaning on its own.
Possible Causes | Solutions |
Water supply is turned off | Check if the water tap is fully open |
Clogged water filter | Clean the filter in the water inlet hose |
Faulty water inlet valve | Consider replacing the inlet valve |
Door not properly closed | Ensure the door is securely shut |
Blocked hose | Inspect the hose for any blockages or kinks |
Low water pressure | Contact your water supplier to check pressure levels |
It can be annoying if your Candy washing machine isn’t filling with water, but the problem is usually solvable. A smart place to start is by inspecting the essentials, such as the water supply, hoses, and water inlet valve. A kinked hose or a clogged filter may be the only simple solution in certain cases.
After doing these tests, if the machine is still not working, there may be a more technical problem, such as a malfunctioning water level sensor or an electrical issue. In this situation, it might be essential to seek professional assistance, particularly if you’re uneasy performing more intricate repairs.
If the water in your Candy washing machine isn’t filling, there may be a blockage in the inlet hose, a broken water valve, or a problem with the water supply itself. Easy inspections can be helpful, such as making sure the water tap is fully open or looking for kinks in the hose. In more complicated situations, it might be necessary to replace or repair the internal parts of the washing machine.
