Ardo washing machine does not heat water

It can be annoying and result in less than perfectly clean clothes if your Ardo washing machine isn’t heating the water. Even though a machine that doesn’t heat the water can still finish its wash cycles, the efficacy of the cleaning may be compromised, particularly when dealing with more stubborn stains.

This could occur for a number of reasons, such as a malfunctioning heating element or thermostat problems. You can diagnose the issue and determine whether you need professional assistance or if you can solve it on your own by being aware of the potential causes.

This guide will explain the typical causes of your Ardo washing machine’s water not heating up as well as the fixes you can apply.

Why water remains cold?

The most obvious cause of the cold temperature is an electric heater that is broken in the tubular form. However, it is important to rule out less serious malfunctions before "blaming" it. Furthermore, issues aren’t always caused by broken components. Sometimes the user’s casual inattention is the source of the issue. Initially, we determine if the heating system ought to have been turned on. We examine the dashboard, or more accurately, the attached application. The machine will not heat the water when in the "Delicate wash," "Sports shoes," "Wool," and "Silk" modes; this is part of the factory settings. "Intensive," "Synthetics," and "Cotton 60" are some of the cycles with high temperatures.

The Ardo washing machine has several programs that don’t require heating the water above 30 degrees.

We examine the set degrees if the "hot" mode is chosen. By altering the factory-set parameters, the user can now adjust the heating temperature with improved Ardo. However, occasionally a technical glitch causes the system to "not see" the changes that have been made. It is preferable to double-check by moving the selector, pressing the relevant buttons, and initiating the process anew. Verifying empirically that there is no heating is crucial. After washing, cold laundry is not a problem because the last rinse, which cools the clothes before spinning, always happens at 30 degrees. There is a more dependable and efficient method of determining whether the heating element is still in service.

  • Start any high-temperature cycle with heating above 40 degrees, ideally at 60-90 degrees.
  • Wait until the machine has washed for at least 15 minutes (it is important that the machine does not have time to switch to rinsing).
  • Put your palm on the hatch glass.
  • Evaluate the degree of heating (if the glass is not cold, it means that the machine has heated the water to the required degrees).

You cannot function without diagnostics if the Ardo machine’s door glass stays cold during the high-temperature cycle. It will be your responsibility to determine and attempt to fix the malfunction’s causes. We’ll examine in detail what kinds of breakdowns we’re talking about and whether you can fix it yourself.

Typical malfunctions

An unsafe mode will not operate on a modern Ardo washing machine. The machine will refuse to start the program if the built-in self-diagnostic system detects heating issues prior to the cycle commencing. There is still another possibility: the washing process will begin, but the items will be cleaned in cold water rather than hot. The latter is worse since it puts the situation in jeopardy and could result in a "fatal outcome" for the washing machine. In the event that you believe there is no heating, it is preferable to start diagnostics right away. We first identify the reasons behind this kind of failure. They number five.

  • Broken pressure switch. If the level sensor is out of order, then the control board does not receive information about the filling of the tank. It is logical that the module does not activate heating and cancels the running wash.
  • Damaged wiring. Another option is that the board sends a signal to the heating element, but due to problems with the wiring, the command does not reach the addressee.
  • Faulty heating element. Natural wear of the part, mechanical damage or overheating due to a thick layer of scale or a short circuit are possible.
  • Incorrectly functioning thermistor. This sensor monitors the water temperature. If it breaks, then heating stops for safety reasons.
  • Non-functioning control board. A resistor may have burned out, contacts may have come loose or the corresponding “track” of the heater may have been damaged.

It is essential to regularly inspect every "weak spot" in order to spot a breakdown. You don’t need to call professionals; you can complete the task at home. The most important thing is to follow directions and take safety measures.

A broken heating element, thermostat, or wiring issue are some of the common causes of an unheated water in your Ardo washing machine. Early detection of the issue can stop additional damage and maintain the functionality of your computer.

Testing and changing the heating element

The heating element and the thermistor that is attached to it are first on the list. You must take off the Ardo’s back panel in order to access the parts. Also, take note of the metal "plate" beneath the tank. However, first the equipment is moved to the center of the room for convenience and disconnected from the provided communications.

First step in any Ardo washing machine repair is to unplug the apparatus from the provided communications!

The heating element is easy to distinguish from other devices because it is always found beneath the tank and has numerous supplied wires surrounding it. To avoid making mistakes during reassembly, it is preferable to snap a picture of the contacts’ locations and the current connections. Next, we follow the instructions to the letter.

  1. Carefully disconnect the wiring from the connectors.
  2. Turn on the multimeter in the "Ohmmeter" mode, set it to 200 Ohm and touch the contacts with the probes.
  3. Look at the display. Normally, the heater gives an indicator of 26-28 Ohm. If "1" or "0" appears, then the problem is in an internal break or short circuit. In extreme cases, repair will not help – only replacing the heating element.

The heater check is not over yet. It is also advised to test the component for malfunctions. After applying the probes to the body, we flip the multimeter to the buzzer mode. A squeak indicates that a part needs to be replaced because it is damaged. The washing machine’s non-functioning heater is taken out and replaced. The gasket can sometimes swell and make it difficult to disassemble by preventing the part from leaving the seat. In order to remove this "barrier," you must:

  • grease the rubber generously with WD-40 or any technical oil;
  • let the product "work" for 10-15 minutes;
  • unhook the thermistor from the heating element;
  • loosen the central bolt;
  • rock the part and remove it from the "nest".

It is advised to look for a replacement heating element with diligence. The marking stamped on the element body is used to choose a new heater. Ideally, you should request an analog by taking the disassembled device to the retailer. Cleaning the seat is the first step in installing a new heater. We clean the tank through the opening left by the removed heating element at the same time. Reverse engineering is done on the machine, using the photos as a guide.

Possible Causes Solutions
Faulty heating element Check and replace the heating element if needed
Thermostat issues Inspect the thermostat and replace if it’s not working correctly
Wiring problems Check the wiring connections for any damage or loose connections
Control board malfunction If other solutions don"t work, the control board might need replacing

The performance of your Ardo washing machine may suffer if the water isn’t heated. It’s critical to find the problem and fix it fast to guarantee that your clothes are cleaned correctly.

Start by examining basic components such as the power supply or temperature settings. If those appear to be in working order, there’s probably a technical issue, like a broken thermostat or heating element.

In many situations, the problem may require expert assistance to be resolved. Your washing machine can continue to function properly for many years with routine maintenance and quick troubleshooting.
